Support

Your church exists because people over the years have supported it and not only financially but as volunteers, by giving their time and their ideas, by visiting, by enjoying concerts and above all by becoming part of its congregation. If St Aldhelms has touched your life in any way, please consider supporting it in one of the ways outlined below to ensure its continued growth.

Connect

Join the congregation

The absolute best way to support your church is the reason for its existence. Join the congregation and Worship our God and all He has done and continues to do for us. EVERYONE is welcome to come to every service.  Joining our congregation makes you part of a living community of people seeking to be prayerful and compassionate proclaimers of the Christian faith.

We hold Evening and Morning prayer everyday, during which we pray for matters concerning the world and our local community. If you would like to join your prayers with ours, please contact Fr Pip in total confidence.

Pray for and with us

We have an awesome God who wants only the best for us. Please do pray for the work that goes on at St Aldhelm’s, for the buildings, the staff and volunteers. If your able, please also join us at any service and add your voice of prayer.

Support an event

There is so much going on at St Aldhelm’s, from worship to music, from links with the community to our Pre-School and local care homes. If you can, please just come along and support one of these events. Your attendance is vital and makes the event, look at the What’s On page to see what is coming up.

Volunteer

Our volunteers are the backbone of St Aldhelm’s. As well as organising and supporting events of all different types, they have a really fun time fellowship and we would love for you to get involved. If you do have some time to spare, please email the office or just turn up and say hello.

Become a friend

The aim of the ‘Friends’ is to create and build a fund which is used in support of the work of the Church. If you have St. Aldhelm’s in your heart then you are already a Friend and you might consider going one step further and supporting the events the friends put on and maybe by making a small donation towards its work. If this sounds of interest, then check out the dedicated Friends of St Aldhelms page.

Open Church

St Aldhelm`s is proud to be open every day of the year for peace and prayer. If you are passing, please just pop in and spend a while in the awesome space. Light a candle and remember a loved one or just sit quietly as you recharge.

Keep in touch

Other than being at church, there are many ways you can keep in touch. We have a really lively Facebook page, where almost all services are streamed live. Planned Giving – The Best way to Support your Church

The best way for you to give is via the established Parish Giving Scheme, run by the Church Of England. You give via Direct Debit and your regular donation is collected and then paid directly to the church. To help donations keep up with changing times, you can opt to allow your donation to increase by the rate of inflation and the scheme even handles gift aid for us, saving valuable time.

You can of course opt out or change your donation at any time.

The Parish Giving Scheme (PGS) is by far and away the best way to give. If you have any questions please contact us or if you are ready go directly to the Parish Giving Scheme website where you can fill in your details

As a result we are looking to raise a one off £10,000 to make up part of this shortfall, If you can, please consider supporting this fund with a donation through the Just Giving page or if you prefer, approach our treasure in confidence. Leave a legacy

Back in the 19th century the building of St Aldhelms Church was only possible because of donations and todays only donations will keep it alive for future generations so if you value your church and all it represents, please consider making a bequest in your Will.

Any bequest is 100% exempt from inheritance Tax and anyone leaving 10% of their taxable estate to charity will qualify for a reduced rate of inheritance tax.

Please contact our treasurer to request more information or call the office on 01202 764420. Your gift will continue to make a difference. Thank you

Organ Fund

The Pipe Organ at St Aldhelm`s is one of the most significant instruments of its type and we are indebted to those who installed it and have maintained it over the years. The Organ Fund exists to raise a ring fenced sum of money to continue its maintenance as required.

If you would like to know more about the Organ check out our dedicated page.
